Are Your Hands Idle?

Today I helped my friend go through her husband's Grandmother's things that were boxed up for sale. What wonderful treasures!

As I picked through boxes of linens that were cross stitched with tatting on the edges I had to hold myself back from taking them all home.

Not only were they beautiful, but doing needle work myself, each piece was special, unique, and I assume created with love.

This morning I was reading Proverbs 31. I have to admit I have a love hate relationship with that woman. It has to be humanly impossible to do everything she is credited with.

I just can't accept one woman could do all that with out electricity, a computer, a car and Starbucks.

The scripture that grabbed me today is verse 27. The NIV says "She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness."

As I picked through each beautiful piece I couldn't help think of the time it took to create each masterpiece. Everything imaginable in stacks and stacks of fabric creations.

This woman was not idle, judging by the amount of work in those boxes. Her hands were busy, instead of being on the computer, or phone she was using her talents to create.

So many times we get sidetracked by life and lose track of what we are really called to do.

We are to make the home. Fill it with treasures, memories, smells, music, love, beauty.

We are to watch over the affairs of our household. Being alert at all times. Watching what comes in and what goes out. Not just finances, but people, things, books, TV shows, movies, music, web sites. All the affairs of our household. It's a big job, but it's one of our assignments from God.

Are you going to tell God He's given you to much to do?

Picture a warrior in full armor guarding her post, being responsible for the well being of what is inside her doors. Always ready, never idle.

What ever your hands find to do make sure they are creating as unto the Lord. Whether it's cross stitch, knitting, drawing, writing, or cleaning out a cupboard make your activity an act of worship.

We must challenge ourselves to resist the temptation if idleness.

I know if asked, God will give us the energy and creativity to do what needs to be done.

This week end, let's do a little something extra as a tribute to that woman in Proverbs.

I just had to share some of the pieces I brought home with me! I'm sorry the pictures aren't better so you could see the detail.

Have a blessed and fruitful weekend!

Battle Gear

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6: 10-13 NIV

A while ago I did a study on gearing up for battle. And as any good Christian knows we have to put on the Armor of God, but what exactly does that mean to you, to me?

Let me share with you my thoughts.

Be strong~~in the Lord~~ inside the Lord, when I am inside the Lord I am strong. We usually think of it as meaning I have to be strong in my faith in Him, Wrong....when I am INSIDE HIM I am strong. He is Strength.

Be strong~~ in His mighty power~~same thing, when I am INSIDE HIM His mighty power is mine.

If I'm wrapped up in a blanket, you can't see me because I'm in it. You see the blanket.

When I am wrapped up inside Him, you can't see me, neither can the enemy. All anyone can see is HIM, not me.

Put on the full armor of God. Put on the full armor, of God. God is the armor. If God is our armor, why are we weaping and moaning, throwing little sticks at the enemy trying to defeat him in our own strength?

Inside God we have armor that is bullet proof.

Time for a happy dance!!

When we are In God we have bullet proof armor covering everypart of us. The flaming arrows, bullets, bombs, knives, or words of the enemy can not get through God, our armor. I don't know about you, but this makes me excited!!

In our battle gear, which is God, we can stand firm knowing we are safe. Nothing the enemy can throw at us will kill us.

Our armor is God.

Knowing He is our armor what do we have to be afraid of?

Man? Are you kidding me, God Scoffs!

Illness? God Heals.

Bankrupcy? God Provides.

God Resotres. God fights our battles. God wins our battles.

Every morning, before you get out of bed, step into the best battle gear available, God.

I can see the firey darts of the enemy falling to the ground at your feet.

Be encouraged, you are only alone in battle if you choose not to gear up!

Walk This Way!

Ok, I know that's a song title, I remember the song clearly!
This is not about a song or the video that went with it, sorry...

So many times we look at a situation and lament, if we just knew what God wanted us to do we'd be happy to do it.

If we just knew His will for our lives we'd jump on the right track and run to the prize.

If we had that cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night to guide us on our way...

If Jesus were alive and walking with us, like He was while He was on earth.....

If we had Joshua to lead us into the promised land....

If things were like they were in Bible times it would be easier.....

If we just didn't have so many distractions and noise or pretty sparkley things......

If we were in the Garden we wouldn't have messed up like Eve and Adam.....

If we just had our kids straightened out, then we could concentrate on God....

If we had a husband that was a Godly man, we'd be able to be closer to God and know His will....

If we didn't have a husband we'd be able to be closer to God and know His will.....

If we just had some kind of sign, we'd be able to follow God's direction....

If we just had the right Bible Translation we'd be able to understand God's direction....

If King David were alive today we could get God's direction from a meeting with him....

If King Solomon were alive today he could surely give us God's direction....

Does any of this sound familiar?? Or am I the only one that can come up with a million legitimate excuses for being confused and unsure about what I'm supposed to be doing?

Is this God or is it me, how do I know??? What do I do? Where do I go?

Please tell me I'm not the only one that sits and stares into space wishing for a neon sign to come down from heaven with the words inscribed, "THIS WAY"

Gods Word says, "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, "This is the way, walk in it." Isaiah 30:21 NIV

To me the answer is pretty simple.

The more I draw near to Him, the clearer His voice is to me. The clearer His voice is to me, the easier it is to understand the direction coming from behind me.

When I get to know Him intimately, I will recognize His voice.

Even if I'm in a crowd with lots of noise, I will hear His voice behind me telling me which way to go.

His voice will become so familiar that without hesitation, I will know it's my Father, my Love, my Husband, my Protector, my Provider, my Strength, my Everything whispering in my ear His direction for me.

I'm not there yet, but my desire is to know Him that well. To be so one with Him, that His presence is with me every minute of everyday gently whispering in my ear, "This is the way, walk in it."

I know I'm not the only one with this desire, as His children we understand our life depends on hearing His voice.

As I walk on this journey of drawing closer to Him, come join me.......Walk This Way!

East Coast West Coast

Ahhh, the beach, one of God's better creations!

A couple weeks ago my friends and I went to Cocoa Beach, on the East Coast of Florida.
Yesterday some of us went to St. Pete's Beach, on the West Coast of Florida.

The two Coast lines are completely different. Water, sand, sun, fish but there the similarities end.

The East Coast has colder water, choppy waves, should one want to you could surf, barely any shells, the water seems to get deep fairly quickly, and beautiful sunrises.
The West Coast has warm water, calm soothing ripples, no surfing, shell's everywhere all shapes and sizes, you can walk out quite a way before it starts to get deep, and beautiful sunsets.
Same sun overhead, same state, but very different.

East Coast, West Coast both beautiful, but different. Opposite sides of the State, East/West.
As I was thinking about the two Coasts the scripture came to mind.

As far as the East is from the West, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Ps 103:12 NIV

When you are standing on the Beach on the East Coast you are looking at sand, and the Atlantic Ocean. The Gulf Coast is behind you.

Get in your car and drive several hours West on I-4 and you end up on the Beach. More sand, but it's the Gulf Coast you're looking at and the Atlantic Ocean is behind you.

When we sincerely ask for forgiveness and repent of our sins, God takes the transgression and removes it to the other Coast. It's behind us, and unless we get in our car and return to the other coast the sin is no longer a part of our coastline.

He has taken it and removed it. We are the ones that keep going over the past. Like we can change it by thinking about it. Should- a, could- a, would- a, just doesn't get it in the Kingdom.

Our confidence in Him should out weigh the need we have to keep revisiting the past. It's over, it's done and if we sincerely repented, it's on the other coast behind us.

Whatever you may be holding on to LET IT GO! God has dealt with it, He's removed it, stop going through the trash to dig it back out, it stinks!

Rejoice in the simple fact that He can remove our sin, and when we ask He does.

Now is the time for a Happy Dance!

Whatever the sin, He'll take it away if we let go of it.

Come on, you can do it, unpry those fingers, He'll set you free......

Dance, Dance, Dance!! Rejoice in the Lord always..

New Name, New Nature

I will change your name
You shall no longer be called

Wounded, outcast

Lonely or afraid

I will change your name

Your new name shall be

Confidence, joyfulness

Overcoming one

Faithfulness, friend of God

One who seeks my face.

The first time I heard this song the only thing I could do was fall on my knees in tears and worship Him.

The abuse from my past had been so devastating that, in my eyes, I had become nothing. I would look in the mirror and try to see any sign of life in my eyes, but they were blank. Empty...

While hearing the words to this song I realized I had slowly change from a blob of nothingness into someone with worth, someone with a future. I began to have hope!

The King of Kings, my Father, had poured His healing oil on my wounded spirit and broken heart and slowly I began the metamorphosis into what He created me to be.

Please keep in mind, I'm nowhere near what He intends me to be, but I'm not the total mess I was! I'm moving on up into His will! What an exciting place to be!!!

I was no longer a caterpillar wrapped in an ugly cocoon hiding in shame and fear from everyone.

I was becoming a beautiful, brightly colored sparkly Butterfly. Very Sparkly, very Pink!

As I opened myself up to His word and sought His face, clinging desperately to Him, I s-l-o-w-l-y began to change.

One day I noticed that heaviness on my chest had lifted, I could take a deep breath and not feel that pressure like someone was sitting on me.

Little things, day by day started lifting. I would actually catch myself smiling! I could hear a song in my heart instead of moaning.

God was changing my name!

Isaiah 62:2-4 msg. says, "You'll get a brand-new name straight from the mouth of God. You'll be a stunning crown in the palm of God's hand, a jeweled gold cup held high in the hand of your God. No more will anyone call you Rejected, and your country will no more be called Ruined. You'll be called Hephzibah (My Delight), and your land Beulah (Married). Because God delights in you and your land will be like a wedding celebration."

I am so in awe that God, the creator of the Universe cares so much about me that He even changes my name to suite His purpose for my life. Nothing goes unnoticed by the Father! No detail is too small for Him! Every little thing is meticulously arranged for my benefit.

All I have to do is reach out to Him to receive His benefits.

What ever the past was like, what ever lies we believed about ourselves, they have no part in our New Name, except to help another get though a similar situation.

It's time to get excited!

Dance like no-one's watching!

For those of us going through the name change the past can't hold us down once we get our wings! Sparkly Pink wings for me please!

Now hear this, God is no respecter of persons!!!!

If He did this for me, He will rename anyone who wants to dance to a new tune!

Surrendering to His total love and name change is the best decision anyone can make!

Turn in your depression, illness, financial despair, unemployment, thoughts of suicide, abuse, all of it.

Let the most High God start the process of a name change for you.

If you let Him, He will place on you the name He picked for you at the creation of the world. He's waiting for you.....run to Him today and get your new name, and your wings!

Should anyone reading this have a prayer request, feel free to enter it in the section marked comments/prayer requests. I don't want you going through life feeling alone, sometimes just knowing someone else is praying with you makes all the difference in the world. It would be my privilege to pray with you.

Are you ready for a name change? There's no better time to begin your journey than now! Take His hand, He's waiting for you.....

His Word Stands Alone

Sometimes all we need is His Word, why add commentary to something all ready flawless?

Psalm 139

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.

1 O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.

5 You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths,
a]">[a] you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

17 How precious to b]">[b] me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.

19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God!
Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!

20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.

21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD,
and abhor those who rise up against you?

22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Nuff Said......

God's Good Pleasure or Mine?

Blessed the man, blessed the woman, who listens to Me (Wisdom), awake and ready for Me each morning, alert and responsive as I start My days work. When you find Me (Wisdom), you find life, real life, to say nothing of GOD'S GOOD PLEASURE! Prov. 8:34&35 MSG

Life is a series of choices. Every minute of every day we are faced with choices that have the potential to alter not only our own future, but the future of our household.

The closer we draw to the Father the better our choices will be.

As we grow in Him, the choices become more challenging. When we learn to look through His eyes at a situation the right decision becomes more clear.

When we use our natural eyes to make a decision we are looking through a clouded glass, our vision is not clear.

This week as I've exercized my decision making abilities and I'm sorry to say not all my decisions were laced with Wisdom.

I long for the day when I can go to bed knowing with out a doubt every decision I made that day was directly connected with God's Good Pleasure, not my own selfish desires.

Some of my decisions are minor and of not much consequence. They do add up, however to a pattern of decision making that can lead to my good pleasure not God's.

All I can do at this point is ask for forgiveness for my lack of Wisdom in all things.

His wonderful mercy will allow me to look at my faltering decision making skills and know next time, with His help I'll do better.

I end this week a little disappointed in myself, but ever hopeful that next week I'll be more intune with Wisdom's voice.

Seeking Wisdom will bring me to a place where I have real life to say nothing of the best prize, GOD'S GOOD PLEASURE!

My prayer for us all is we come to a place where seeking Wisdom, learning of His will for our lives, and preparing ourselves for holiness is the first thing we think about in the morning and the last thing we think about at night.

Everything else will fall into place.

Identify Me Please....

I was at the Holy Land Experience yesterday. It's one of my favorite places. I have a pass to get in all year! Most people near Orlando have passes for Universal, SeaWorld, Disney, etc. I have a pass to the Holy Land Experience, go figure!

The table pictured is the tented area where you can partake of communion with "Jesus". Every time I'm in there I cry.

I know it's an actor, but the Holy Spirit is there, and the person portraying Jesus is a minister. There is no denying the atmosphere is special.

We went into the theater where there was praise and worship. The worship leader said a couple things that really stuck with me. His words made me rethink my significance and the wonder of it all.

He said,"You are not defined by what people say about you. You are defined by what God says about you."

So much truth in those words, but sometimes so hard to believe.

How many times I've let myself be defined by a name I was called or a comment that was made.

I would totally forget that God calls me His daughter, which makes me a Princess in His Kingdom.

It's so much easier to cower under the name calling than to stand straight and tall, knowing we are royalty.

Knowing God's Word is the only way we can avoid accepting other's words over us as truth.

If we don't know God's word, we'll never recognize the lie when it comes at us.

Knowing He formed us, He created us from a thought, that each one of us unique is not only empowering, but humbling.

God's allowing His Son to go to the cross on our behalf gives us an idea of the love He has for us.

We are significant in the Kingdom. Each of us has a purpose and a plan all ready for us to walk into if we choose. No one else can do the exact thing God put us here to do.

If we refuse the assignment, He can get someone else, but it won't be the same as His original perfect plan.

You are significant to God. Don't make God settle for second best, strive everyday to walk in the calling He has designed for you.

You are His favorite child, and what He says about you is your true identity!

If you are ever in doubt about who you are, read His word and get ready to be excited about you!

But you don't know what they did to me!

I took this picture while at the Holy Land Experience in Orlando. One of my favorite places to visit. You've got to go there!

Pastor Mark, at Merge Church, has been speaking to us on Forgiveness! OUCH!!

The very word steps all over my little toes, and I know it does yours too.

We want forgiveness, we ask for it, we seek it, we believe in it's curative powers, we read about it, we talk about it, we even sing about it.

My question is how readily do we really extend forgiveness?

I mean from the gut, not just words. The kind of forgiveness that hurts because the offence was so horrendous we carry it around like a badge of honor. I AM MARTYR! The kind of forgiveness that when we let go of the offense we know it will be the end of us.

Col 3:13 says "Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

What? You've got to be kidding me, who put that in there? It must be a type-o this can not possibly be...... Forgive as the Lord forgave me???? Do you know what he did to me? Do you have any idea what I went through? Forgive that????

Dear Lord, I forgive....just don't let that so and so come near me or I'll slit his throat, but I forgive, yes sir, I forgive!

UM, NO, forgiveness, is letting go of the offense so it doesn't kill you. It's getting rid of stuff that's taking up space in you that God wants to inhabit.

Unforgiveness is clogging up the works! We need a spiritual laxative, and that would be forgiveness!

When we forgive others from the deepest part inside us, all that stuff comes out and we are cleansed. (Sorry about that, but that's the visual I just got, God does have a sense of humor!)

When we are cleansed, there is space for God to move into places we had roped off and locked up thinking He just doesn't need to be there.

Forgiveness is a choice, a life altering choice, but the bottom line is we can't afford not to forgive. Not just the words, but really forgiving, letting go, emptying out so God can fill us.

Jesus did it all for us on the cross. I think everyone should have to watch "The Passion" to have a somewhat graphic reminder of what forgiveness really is.

Have our experiences been anything even remotely close to the torture He went through on our behalf? I don't think so...

How can we not forgive, when we've been forgiven so much?

Are you carrying offenses around that are killing you? Do you even realize they are there, or have you carried them so long you don't notice the stink?

I know it can be painful to forgive, but I also know not forgiving will cause a slow and gruesome death. It will bring on horrible cancerous growth and depleat us of all our beauty. Is that really how you want to go out?

I don't have a magic bullet to share with you, all I can say is, seek Him. He will give you what ever you need to truely forgive, and He will fill the void left when the offense is released.

You will be set free!

If you need prayer for help, please don't hesitate to let me know. On the side bar there's a place for prayer requests. You can leave me a message in comments, or email me. I want to help if you need prayer.

Fasting and Prayer

I've been unemployed since March. To me, getting through each
month has been a miracle.

God has provided for me in ways I would have never imagined.

I'm in my second day of fasting and prayer. And God has all
ready shown up!

I have insurance on my credit cards to cover my balances in case
of job loss. All went well except for two of my accounts.

My claims for these two were turned down . I made all the necessary phone calls, faxes, tears, prayers etc. to turn their decision around.

Nothing, they weren't going to budge. I kept praying....

Today "something"(wink wink) told me to check my balances on these two accounts.

Less than 24hrs. into my fast, God had BOTH accounts paid off!!

I could barely believe my eyes while looking at those 0 balances.

How can we ever out do our Father?

As I proceed with my time of fasting and prayer I so look forward to drawing closer to
Him.

I know He has a purpose and a plan for me and this time will be well spent.

His love knows no bounds. All we have to do is take one step in His direction and He, the Creator
of the Universe, opens His arms wide and says "I've been waiting for you"

First things First

Australia, Victoria, The Great Ocean Road, Twelve Apostles, sunset

When we plan our days, weeks, months, and years what is our focus? Do we look at the financial part of our lives and plan accordingly? Do we look at career goals and map out the best strategy? How about family, what goals do we write down for our children, marriage, personal life, etc.?

In an age when everyone is being stretched to their limit, we barely sleep because our planners are so full we can't possible do everything we need to do to accomplish everything on our lists. We wouldn't think of going to bed with out announcing it to the world via
FB and Twitter. It's become a way of life.

We are bound to paper calendars and neatly organized planners with beautiful covers to make them more user friendly. The beauty of the outward appearance and the efficiency of the inner workings makes us want to carry them with us at all times. Their eye appeal eases the fact that we are bound to them like a chain around our necks.

We are bound to our
Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, newsletters and whatever else comes along in the name of Social Networking, because we need all this to promote ourselves to reach the above listed plans for our lives and besides it's fun.

We are bound to what ever the latest technology offers us in the form of a cellphone/computer/planner/life source. They have become an extra appendage, we can't leave a room without them much less leave home without them.

Now, before you get all offended by what I've said, I have a cell phone,
facebook, twitter, blog and paper planner. I carry everything plus the kitchen sink with me at all times, just in case.

What I want to do is give all of us pause.. take just a minute, slow down, take a breath, smell the roses, see a sun rise or set, have a cup of coffee in a real cup with a saucer, have a spot of tea.

Then we all need to look at our lists of goals and plans see where we put God in all that. Is he first and
foremost on the lists? Is He the focal point of our planned life, our rigid schedules?

Do we go to Him first, single minded, intent on drawing closer to Him before we start down crazy lane? Is He, our creator, the first thing on our minds when we wake up? Is He the first One in the mornings we communicate with? Do we really seek Him with all our hearts, or do we just read through a devotional say a quickie prayer only to spend hours planning and plotting our successful lives?

He wants to be first. He wants to be last and everything in between. His word says He'll make the crooked road straight. Talk about, time management, how much time would that save in life's travel?

Is.44:6 says, This is what the Lord says, Israel's King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty. I am the First and the Last; apart from me there is no God.

Do we put Him first, above all the challenges of a fast paced life? Is He given the time allotment in our schedules He as our Creator deserves?

Apart from Him there is no God...Do we have little gods ruling our lives? Little gods demanding time that should be given freely and joyfully to our Father? Do we give in to the lie that all this stuff is necessary to function?

Where does God really fit into our daily schedule? Is He first and foremost all day everyday or do we squeeze Him in when it's convenient for us?

Lord, slow us down so we can truly see your plan for our household. Let us stand each day in awe of your majesty and greatness. We thank you for all the technology you've permitted to come into our lives and we ask You give us the wisdom to use it wisely.

God's Promise Concerning My Children

I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams. One will say, "I belong to the Lord"; another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand, "The Lord's" and will take the name Israel. Is. 44:3-5

The bookcase in my living room is full enough to give an organizer or interior decorator heart palpitations! It's full, full of everything.

To anyone else looking at it it's a jumble of books, old and new, pictures, old and new, trinkets, do dads, worthless items to anyone else but me.

To me that bookcase is a comfort. I look at it and see four generations of snapshots. Memories of some who've gone on to be with the Lord, my parents and twin granddaughters. I see my children, my "adopted" children, my grandchildren.

In one clean sweep I can stand before that bookcase and see almost everyone I hold dear, everyone I pray for daily. Some all ready in the Kingdom serving, and some running wild, yet destine to be a servant of the most high God.

God's promise to me is my Children. I wasn't a perfect Mom, but my prayers of salvation, blessing and restoration are ever before Him and I believe in His promise.

He will pour out His Spirit on my children, His Blessing on my Offspring. When I think of that scripture promise I get so excited. My Children, grandchildren, and future generations pre-destined to be His.

Through prayer, much prayer, constant prayer, never ending prayer God's Spirit will be on and in my Children.

His love and faithfulness, His promise of His Spirit and Blessing are not just for my children. They are for who ever stands on His promise.

If your Children aren't walking the straight and narrow today, take heart. God has a promise for you. It's the same promise He made me.

Start today and stand on that promise for your household, meditate on it, write it down, repeat it daily. Chew on it like it was a perfectly done steak!

And God, in His perfect time will honor your prayers and mine. Our children will run smack into God and have no idea what happened!!

You are not alone

On my bed I remember You; I think of You through the watches of the night. Ps. 63:6

After my ex husband left I would lay in bed at night begging God to let me not wake up the next morning. All I could think about was the hole in my life, the emptiness, the darkness. Fear totally took over and all I could do was cry out in despair. I was alone.

Night after endless night I was gripped by fear and sorrow.

Slowly comfort started to come. It came in many forms, prayer, Bible reading, prayer, Books, prayer, Single Mother's Ministry at church, prayer and more prayer.

One day I noticed the heaviness on my chest was gone. I had not really noticed the constant feeling of someone sitting on my chest because it had been there for so many years. I was truly amazed when it lifted, I could actually breath again. What a feeling.

As the days, week, months, and years rolled on I realized instead of being a fearful, weak, whining mess I was actually turning into something not so bad. I began to feel like a woman of worth, I really believed God had a purpose and a plan for me and it was going to be good.

Now at night, instead of wanting to die, I lie in bed thinking of my Father's love for me. How He, in His infinite wisdom didn't answer my prayer for death.

During the night, instead of cursing that empty side of the bed I am at peace.

Peace didn't come all at once, it was a long, drawn out painful process. But it did come and it is so sweet.

I lie in my bed at night and recount all the miracles He has preformed on my behalf. Friends, I only wish I had time to tell you about each one of them. I am overwhelmed by His faithfulness to me.

I lie in my bed at night and am so grateful He loved me enough to get me out of somewhere I didn't belong so He could put me right where He wanted me.

I lie in my bed at night and praise Him, not for what He's done but for who He is. My strength, my strong tower, my everpresent help in times of trouble.

Yes, on my bed I remember Him, I think of Him through the watches of the night!

If you feel alone, if you're in a situation that you think you can't get out of, if you need to get to a safe place. There is hope, you aren't alone.

I know from experience God will place people in your life to encourage you and listen to you and help get you where you need to be. Spiritually and or physically.

You're not alone, you're not forgotten. He has the hairs on your head numbered, if He's that much into the little details of your life He's well aware of the big issues. Put your trust in Him and He will never let you down.

I've come a long way on my journey, and looking back I can see His hand in each step.

So tonight as I lay in my bed I'll say a prayer of thanksgiving for His many blessings, and ask my Father to give you a special hug so you know He's there for you.

You are loved,
Be Blessed

God's Security System

I will defend My house against marauding forces. Never again will an oppressor overrun My people for now I AM KEEPING WATCH!
Zech.9:8

I know in the scripture God is talking about His house, but when I read this scripture I like to put the emphasis on the last phrase. For now I AM KEEPING WATCH and insert the picture of my house.

I don't think any home security system out there can offer the same benefits as the Heavenly Security System God offers.

He will defend my house against marauding forces. Not just a few frogs, or algae in the pond but maurading forces. Forces designed to wreck havoc on my household. Forces set out to destroy anything and everything in their path. Forces seen and unseen.

Never again will an oppressor overrun My people. WOW! What a promise. This is security at it's best. When we get pulled under by the daily news, our dwindeling finances, job loss, divorce, kids gone astray all the things maurading forces try to throw at us to bring us to a stop, God says NEVER AGAIN.

My choice, get pulled under by the maurading forces trying to destroy me, or Stand on the promise of NEVER AGAIN. Hmmm, let me think for a minute. Maurading Forces or God's promise of NEVER AGAIN. I choose God's Promise, my final answer!

When I make a choice to follow Him and welcome Him into my home I can live with the security that not only His NEVER AGAIN goes into effect but, and this is the best part, NOW HE IS KEEPING WATCH.

What on earth do I have to be worried about when My God, My Father is keeping watch over my house? Can you imagine? How awesome, I have the best security system in the known universe!

You can have it too. It only takes a minute to install. Open up your heart to Him, give yourself and all your stuff to Him and He will keep watch over you too.

Unlike the maurading forces, He won't set foot in your heart or on your property until you ask Him, He's a gentleman, He won't force His way in, but when you open the door and say come in
He will enter and begin His Watch! And you will be changed forever.
